Hilda Holmes

Hilda D. Holmes, 95 of Ashland, KY formerly of Greenville, KY died March 30, 2023 at her residence.
She was born July 26, 1927 in Greenville, KY the daughter of the late Stanton and Lois Sweeney Holman and raised by a very special aunt and uncle, the late Florence and Charlie Bivens.
Her husband, Dilford E. Holmes and her sister, Wanda Ruth Goodbub, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Anna H. Ruth and husband, Paul Melvin of Ashland, KY; one son, Thomas L. Holmes and wife, Judy of Suwanee, GA; six grandchildren, Beth Ann (Ryan) Keith of Louisville, KY, T.D. (Mandy) Ruth of Nashville, TN, Abbey Holmes of Suwanee, GA, Amy Melvin (Matthew) Middlebrooks of Herrin, IL, Mark (Cara) Melvin of Bluffton, SC and Jeff Melvin of Hollidaysburg, PA and seven great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held, 1:00 PM Thursday, June 1, 2023 at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West at 5817 Fort Campbell Blvd. Hopkinsville, KY by Rev. Tim Brown.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to, First Presbyterian Church, 158 S. Main St. Greenville, KY 42345, Shelter of Hope, 2944 Winchester Ave. Ashland, KY 41101, Community Hospice, 1480 Carter Ave. Ashland, KY 41101 or charity of choice. Steen Funeral Home in Ashland, KY are in charge of arrangements.
