Irma Ratliff, 94, of Ashland, died peacefully Tuesday morning, in Kingsbrook Lifecare Center.
Irma was born on September 4, 1929, in Louisa, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Lee and Addie Thompson Patrick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Walter Ratliff; brothers, Thomas Patrick, Lee Patrick Jr., Mack Patrick and Milton Patrick; and one sister, Nora Church.
Irma began her working career at Sylvania in Huntington, West Virginia. The ultimate businesswoman, she and her husband owned and operated Davis Equipment Company where she worked until age 77. Throughout her life, Irma remained young at heart and had a wonderful sense of humor.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Allen (Betty) Ratliff of Ashland; two grandchildren, Jason (Rachel) Ratliff of Ashland, and Dr. Jamie (Matt Duffy) Ratliff of Duluth, MN; two great grandchildren, Brayden and Natalie Anderson; her extended family whom she loved as her own, Donita Cox and family, Phyllis Clarke and family, and Jeff Collinsworth and family. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
A brief eulogy and words of comfort will be provided by Don Fraley at 5:00 p.m. followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 21, 2023, at STEEN FUNERAL HOME CENTRAL AVENUE CHAPEL. She will be entombed privately with her husband on Friday at Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum.
