Jack Cecil Goodwin, 86, of Ashland, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at the Community Hospice Care Center.

He was born September 10, 1930, in Ashland, to the late Cecil and Helen Hatcher Goodwin. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Boggess Goodwin in 2000; brother, Homer Goodwin; and two sisters, Linda Miller and Jo Ann Carhart.

Jack was a member of Pollard Baptist Church and retired from the Ashland Fire Department after 20 years of service. He was a member of Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. 350, American Legion Post 76, and Kentucky Bikers Association. He served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Goodwin of Morehead, and Cindy Wesley and husband, Robert of Ashland, and; two grandchildren, Robert Wesley, III, and Katie Wesley both of Ashland; and a host of loving extended family members and friends.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Kingsbrook Lifecare Center and Community Hospice for the care given to Jack throughout his illness and in his final days

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 21, 2017 at Steen Funeral Home 13th Street Chapel with Dr. Isaac W. Nicholson officiating. Burial will follow in Ashland Cemetery where military honors will be provided by United States Army and American Legion Kenova Post 93.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 20, 2017, at the funeral home.
