Jack Kersey, 90, of Ashland, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2019 at the Community Hospice Care Center.
He was born June 23, 1929, in Catlettsburg, Kentucky, a son of the late Herbert and Virginia Caldwell Kersey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Herbert Kersey, Jr.; sister Sharon Blackburn and a great granddaughter, Kate Parsons.
Jack was a member of Grace Church of the Nazarene. He retired from the Ironworkers Local 769 and was an avid woodworker.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 69 years, Waska Bush Kersey of Ashland; daughter, Patricia (Gary) Ingram of Ashland; son, Keith (Cheri) Kersey of Ashland; grandchildren, Amanda (Marty) Brenneman, Kelly (Jeremey Lewis), Brandon (Vanessa) Kersey, and Aaron (Sarah) Kersey; great grandchildren, Jack Parsons, Madison Kersey, Asher Kersey, Scarlett Kersey and Everett Kersey. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, July 14, 2019, at Grace Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Jim Webster officiating. Entombment will take place on Monday, at Rose Hill Burial Park.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday, at the church.
