James B. “Buddy” Figley, 73, of Russell, passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at Community Hospice.
He was born February 14, 1948, in Ashland, Kentucky, to the late James Walter and Kathleen Sloan Figley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sandy Barber.
Buddy was a 1966 graduate of Paul Blazer High School. He retired following a 41 year career with Marathon where he served as President of the Union. He served on the State School Board Association and was a member of Elks Lodge BPOE 350.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 55 years, Toni Webb Figley of Russell; son, James Matthew (Cathy Queen) Figley of Ashland; daughter, Missy Figley (Garry) Morris of Russell; brother, Mark Figley of Indianapolis, IN; three grandchildren, Zach Figley, Piper Figley and McKenah Morris; and a host of extended family members and dear friends.
Funeral and Elks services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 8, 2021, at STEEN FUNERAL HOME CENTRAL AVENUE CHAPEL with words of comfort provided by Chaplain Jimm Smedley. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
Visitation will be from Noon until 2:00 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
