James E. Caldwell, 85, of Ashland, passed away Sunday, October 3, 2021, in King’s Daughters Medical Center.
He was born on January 17, 1936, in Boyd County, Kentucky to the late Charles Joel Caldwell and Ruby Mae Harris Newsome. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Janis Caldwell; and two sisters, Virginia Maruo and Paige Lambert.
Jim owned and operated C C Coin and served honorably in the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of Greenhill Masonic Lodge 521. Jim never met a stranger and enjoyed visiting with his family and friends.
Survivors include his loving wife, Linda Weaver Caldwell of Ashland; two sons, Steve Caldwell and Charlie Caldwell both of Ashland; stepson, Jeffery Ratliff of Ashland; sister, Bonnie Duncan of Michigan; half-brother, Johnny Newsome of Michigan; and a granddaughter, Brie Caldwell.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at STEEN FUNERAL HOME CENTRAL AVENUE CHAPEL.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 7, 2021, at Catlettsburg Cemetery with words of comfort provided by Pastor Frank Hulett.
