James “Bud” Lemaster, 75, of Ashland, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Cornerstone Hospital in Huntington. Bud was born December 10, 1945 in Louisa, KY, a son of the late Ben and Irene Caudill Lemaster. In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by his sister Elaine Messer, a brother Ben Donald Lemaster and his step son Steve Vanhorn.
Bud worked at the Nickel Plant in Burnaugh before a long career as a lineman. He worked for Hinkle & McCoy, H&H Communications of Somerset and GTE, Alltel and Verizon.
Bud attended Catlettsburg South Side Nazarene Church.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 44 years Hope Jacobs Lemaster, his daughter Amanda Lemaster and Fiancé Jeremy Baldridge and son Eli of Ashland, his son Billy Joe Jacobs and wife Katelyn of Ashland, a step daughter Brenda Webb of Catlettsburg, brothers Harold (Pat) Lemaster of Monticello, KY, Dewey (Karen) Lemaster of Louisa, KY, sisters Benetta Pack of Georgetown, KY, Phyllis (the late Bill) Sturgill of Ubly, MI, his grandson Mason James Lemaster and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Thursday, May 6, 2021 at the Steen Funeral Home 13th St. Chapel by Brad Salyers. Burial will be in the Ashland Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
