Janet "Boots" Jarvis

Janet L. “Boots” Jarvis, 84, of Ashland, died peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, September 8, 2021.
She was born August 25, 1937, in West Virginia, to the late Carl William and Clara Ellen Bond Gannon. In addition to her parents, her loving husband, Michael D. “Sonny” Jarvis; son-in-law, Danny Mooney; and a sister, Juanita “Toots” Dillon, preceded her in death.
Janet was an active member of Freedom Baptist Church in Kitts Hill, Ohio. She enjoyed decorating for church activities, working Vacation Bible School, and volunteering. She was a longtime and founding member of Friendship Doll Club where she previously served as President and Vice President. An excellent artisan and craftsman, her work has been displayed in the Kentucky Capitol. Above all her greatest accomplishment was being a mother and grandmother. She was a loving and devoted homemaker and was happiest when surrounded by her family.
Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Jamie (Mason) Harrod of Georgetown, KY, and Julie Mooney of Ashland, KY; and grandchildren, Kirsten Harrod, Brianna Harrod, Mariah Harrod and Carley Mooney.
A celebration of Janet’s life will be held at Noon, on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at STEEN FUNERAL HOME CENTRAL AVENUE CHAPEL with Pastor Matthew Dillon officiating. Burial will follow in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until Noon Saturday, at the funeral home.
