Janet Gibbs Stapleton Marsh died peacefully at KDMC September 13, 2021. She was born in Ashland, KY on November 30, 1941 and was the last surviving child of the late B.E. and Nannie Cantrell Gibbs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Stapleton in 1967, as well as all of her siblings: Elwood Gibbs, Dorla Gambill, Wanda Dickens, Gloria Wenning, Jim Gibbs, Carl Gibbs, Lou Adkins and Tony Gibbs.

Janet is survived by her daughters Paula (Mike) Sturm and Trish Jackson, as well as her granddaughter Courtney Brook (Michael) Bartley and great-granddaughter Selah Brooke Bartley, whom she loved and adored beyond measure. She will continually and affectionately be referred to as Selah's "Glammy.” Janet will also be missed by her many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Janet was a long-time member of Rose Hill Baptist Church and thoroughly enjoyed her church life and family. Those who knew Janet know that she lived life to the fullest. She never missed an opportunity to travel, shop, spend time with friends or be with the family that she so fiercely loved.

Janet was a business owner for many years in the Ashland area. Her business endeavors included the Blue Powder Puff Boutique, Western Hills Motor Lodge and Restaurant (part owner), Marsh Prescription Center, and several others. Her more recent businesses were Western Hills Floral and Gift Shop and the Thirteenth Street Storage Center.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to KDMC staff for the compassionate care they provided. The nursing staff went far beyond their call of duty to offer comfort, including Amanda, Matt, Justin and others. A special debt of gratitude is owed Drs. Salem and Sanchez, and Karen Hart, APRN.
