Jason Nicholas Brown, 41 of Rush, Kentucky entered into his Heavenly home on April 16, 2022, at King's Daughters Medical Center after an extended illness.
Jason was born May 1, 1980, in Ashland, Kentucky the son of Donald Lee and Brenda Kay Sperry Brown of Catlettsburg. In addition to his parents he is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Melissa Kouns Brown who was his best friend and the love of his life; a sister, Jennifer Akers and her husband, Philip of Ashland Kentucky; four nephews, Garrett Arnett, Jason Kouns, Nathan Akers, and Wyatt Kouns; three nieces, Lila Kouns, Nola Akers, and Maya Harris; two great nieces and nephews, Myles Andrew and Lola Claire Kouns and Averi Blayke and Hayden James Arnett. Jason known to most as uncle Big Jay or uncle Day really loved all of his nieces and nephews. He enjoyed playing with them: He was a big kid at heart and enjoyed playing video games and having a good time. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends too many to mention who all loved him dearly. Two special fur babies HeidiJo and Macy who miss him at home.
Jason's true passion was for music. He loved to play guitar and bass with his family, especially with his dad. Jason was a 1998 graduate of Boyd County High School where he participated in just about every type of band that was offered. He always said that his time in the band was some of the greatest times of his life. Jason was a very kind, loving, funny and intelligent person and he is so terribly missed by all who knew him. We don't know of anyone who truly disliked him, he was one of a kind. Jason attended and belonged to Straight Creek Nazarene Church when he was able to attend, he loved to play guitar and sing in church. Jason had a long struggle with health problems but still tried to make everyone smile which is what made him so special.
