John Cecil Skeans, 89, of Ashland, passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2021, in King’s Daughters Medical Center.
He was born June 24, 1931, in Ashland, Kentucky, to the late John and Emma Sellards Skeans. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Edward Skeans; two daughters, Kathy Ann Skeans and Debbie Lynn Skeans; and several siblings.
John retired following a long career with Armco Steel. He served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed fishing, house boating and being surrounded by his family.
Survivors include his loving wife of 25 years, Nadean Lawson Skeans of Ashland; son, James Cecil Skeans and wife, Christie of Ashland; brother, Paul David Skeans, of Ozark, Missouri; two step sons, Timothy Kennedy and wife, Kim of Hawaii, and David Kennedy and wife, Lisa of North Carolina. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
