John Lee Stevens

John Lee Stevens, 76, of Ashland, KY passed away at KDMC on July 31, 2022. He was born on February 8, 1946 to the late John Henry and Tora Griffith Stevens. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
He was retired as an operator from Marathon Inc. was a member of Blackburn Avenue Missionary Baptist Church and was a KY Colonel. His love for gospel music spanned many decades and he performed with his group the Anchormen as well as his wife Judith.
John is survived by his loving wife Judith Fairchild Stevens of Ashland, KY; Mother-in-law, Esther Fairchild of Ashland, KY; sons Gregory L. (Leslie Morrison-) Stevens of Coal Grove, OH and Mark (Lisa) Stevens of Greenup, KY; a daughter Christe (Steven) Griffith of Ashland, KY; brothers Bob (Lisa) Stevens of Westwood, KY and Jim (Shara) Stevens of Fallsburg, KY; grandchildren Eleanor Stevens, Cameron (Brooke) Stevens, Sara (Collins) Youngblood, Emily (Justin) Pennington and Skylar Morrison; and great grandchildren Layla Duffield, Rory Stevens-Reed, Carson Pennington and Heidi who is due to arrive in September.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 5, 2022 at STEEN FUNERAL HOME-13TH STREET CHAPEL at 2:00 PM and will be officiated by Pastor Ron Riley. Entombment will follow in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 AM until service time at 2:00 PM.
