Joy Sutton

Joy Taylor Sutton, 89, of Ashland, died peacefully on Monday, May 16, 2022, in Woodland Oaks Health Care Facility.

She was born in Brownwood, Texas on January 6, 1933, the only child of the late James William Taylor and Mollie Meade Taylor. In addition to her parents, her loving husband of 54 years, Shirl Sutton preceded her in death.
Joy was a 1950 graduate of Boyd County High School. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and retired following a long career in administration with Ashland Oil, Inc.

She is survived by her daughter, Shirleen (Paul) Maynard; her son, William T. Sutton; grandchildren, Molly Maynard, Valerie Cassio, and Brookley Maynard; two great grandchildren, Caitlyn and Kekela; and her beloved dog Bambi.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2022 at STEEN FUNERAL HOME 13TH STREET CHAPEL with Rev. John Carwell officiating. Burial will follow in Ashland Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
