Joyce Rayburn

Joyce E. Rayburn, 93, of Ashland, Kentucky, died Saturday, January 8, 2022 in Woodland Oaks Health Care Facility following a brief illness.

She was born on February 26, 1928 in Ashland, Kentucky the daughter of the late Charles F. and Ethel Wheeler Powers.

Joyce was a homemaker, enjoyed gardening and sewing. Joyce attended Ashland High School. She was a caring compassionate friend to all who knew her. She attended Pollard Baptist Church for years and served as a Sunday School Teacher and attended Unity Baptist Church later in life.

She was married on November 18, 1950 to the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Rayburn who preceded her in death. Joyce is survived by a son, James (Valerie) Rayburn, Bull Frog, Utah; a brother David (Cheryl) Powers of Florida. Grandchildren, Abraham (Alesha) Rayburn, Ashland, Kentucky, Amelia Rayburn, Tucson, Arizona and Lucas (Merlyne) Rayburn, Tucson, Arizona. Great Grandchildren, Brooke, Triston, Ayden, Maya, and Malia. Several nieces and nephews. Special friends Mark and Johnda Stambaugh. Others who preceded her in death, three sisters, Jo Anne, Jennie, and Marcelles, five brothers, Garland, Clifford, Fred, Herman, and Charles.

Joyce will be laid to rest next to her husband in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens.
