Justina "Jimmie" Flora Puthoff Strubler

Justina “Jimmie” Puthoff Strubler was born on November 21, 1920 in Ashland, KY and passed away June 10, 2020 after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her husband Edward Strubler, her parents Albert and Justina Degenhart Puthoff and siblings Lawrence Puthoff, Carl Puthoff, Mary Puthoff and Bertha Whitson. She is survived by nephews Rev. Charles Puthoff, David (Barbara) Puthoff and Joe (Sue) Puthoff. She is also survived by great nieces Julie McBride(Andy), Jennifer (Erik), Emily Puthoff and Laura Puthoff and great nephew Michael (Maria) Puthoff and eight great-great nieces and nephews.
Jimmie was a lifelong Catholic and was a dedicated and faithful member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She began working as a bookkeeper when a teenager. In 1956 she started working for Howard May CPA and worked continuously for his successors for over 63 years until retiring from Griffith, DeLaney, Hillman & Lett in 2019 at the age of 99.
Jimmie was also a longtime and faithful Cincinnati Reds fan with a special fondness for Pete Rose, Johnny Bench and Joey Votto. She and her husband Ed loved to travel and made many trips to Cincinnati to watch the Big Red Machine during the 1970’s. She enjoyed going to the dog track and playing bingo with her special friend Helen Crooks.
Jimmie was an energetic, dynamic and truly special person for all of her 99 years on this earth and was inspiring to all who knew her. Though Heaven is rejoicing, she will be sadly missed by her family, friends, caregivers (Mary, Wendy Ashley and Lora), co-workers and “adoptive” family Marci Lewis and Jon, Candy, Madison and Spencer Lett.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Ashland, with Father D. Andrew Canon Garner, KHS presiding. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
As an expression of sympathy, the family requests, in lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution be made to Holy Family Catholic Church, 900 Winchester Avenue, Ashland, KY, 41101.
Pallbearers will be David Puthoff, Joe Puthoff, Jon Lett, Spencer Lett, David Griffith and John Clevenger.
