Karin Chellgren Lewis, 74, of Ashland, passed away on Saturday evening, April 25, 2020, at her residence.
She was born April 13, 1946, in Rochester, PA, a daughter of the late Wilbur Elliot and Kathryn Berquist Chellgren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Mark R. Chellgren.
Karin was a member of First United Methodist Church in Ashland and MU Master of Beta Sigma PHI. She received the Order of the Rose- Beta Sigma Phi. She was a member of Women of the Highlands, served on the Board of the Highlands Museum, Paramount Women’s Association, Festival of Trees, Boyd County Fair 2001-2018, on the Board for Paul Blazer Class of 64 Reunion and Received the Key to the City in August 2018.
Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Steven Gregory Lewis and wife, Erin of Raleigh, NC, and Michael Christopher Lewis of Ashland, KY; two brothers, Paul Wilbur Chellgren and wife, Debbie of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Jon David Chellgren and wife, Diane of Boca Raton, Fla.; two sisters, Lynn Ann Fernandez and husband, John of Miami, Fla.; and Susan Chellgren Caudill and husband Gregory of Ashland, KY; grandchildren, Xenea Burnette Wells, Ivy Katherine Wells, Berkley Showns and Andrew Showns; two great grandchildren, Joshua Lewis Wells and Ava Danielle Wells; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.
A celebration of Karin’s life will be held once restrictions have been lifted regarding the Covid19 Pandemic
A private service will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2020 with Rev. Jeff Bramel officiating. Entombment will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum.
