Kelly Eugene Starcher, 74, of Ashland, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at King's Daughters Medical Center.

He was born May 24, 1947, in Procious, West Virginia, to the late Russell Raymond Starcher and Agnes Marie Dennis Starcher. In addition to his parents, he was reunited in heaven with a daughter, Cherie Starcher; brother, James Starcher; sisters, Jean Rose, and Millie Starcher; and a grandchild, Daniel Dugger.

Kelly was a 1965 graduate of Clay County High School. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he honorably served two tours in Vietnam and was awarded a purple heart, a silver star, a bronze star, and a commendation medal among others. He retired following a long career as a self-employed truck driver. He enjoyed participating in car shows and had a large diecast model car collection. As a devoted family man who fiercely loved his wife; he was happiest when surrounded by his loved ones and they will miss him immensely.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 47 years, Cynthia Ober Starcher; son, Jason (Valerie) Starcher of Imperial, MO; daughters, Holly (Curtis) Knuckles of Ashland, KY, Kellie (Richard) Kiser of Roanoke, VA, Tammy Buzzard of Waynesboro, PA, and Angela (Jeff) Wade of Terre Haute, IN; brothers, Delmar (Linda) Starcher of St. Albans, WV, Danny (Peggy) Starcher of Walton, WV, and Ronald (Gianna) Starcher of Amma, WV; sisters, June (Mike) Gentile of Boardman, OH, and Kimberly Starcher of South Charleston, WV; 10 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date in Elkview, West Virginia.
