Lana Mays

Lana Gail Mays, 77, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday morning, May 31, 2023 at her residence. Lana was born August 23, 1945 in Lawrence County, OH, a daughter of the late Elmer and Erma Arrington Robinson. In addition to her parents, her husband Lee Mays and sisters Kay Bryson and Connie Clement preceded her in death.
Lana was a lifelong resident of Lawrence County and a graduate of Rock Hill High School. She worked at Cardinal Cleaners in Ashland with over 27 years of dedicated service. Most importantly to her was her family, being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed family get-togethers and spending time with her nieces.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Larry Koster and wife Lana of Flatwoods, Scott Koster and wife Melissa of Jacksonville, FL, her daughter Kimberly Koster and husband Adam of Tampa, FL, brothers Richard (Annette) Robinson and Larry (Rhonda) Robinson all of Ironton, a brother-in-law Bob Clement of Ironton, grandchildren Brandon (Brianna) Koster, Riley Koster Christian Bloomfield, Will (Aman) Rowe, Reagan Koster. Additional family members include stepchildren Bill (Linda) Mays, Timothy Wayne Mays, Sheri (Jerry) McKenzie, step grandchildren Alissa (Adam) Cannoy, David Mays, Cory White, several nieces, nephews and extended family.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to neighbors Kim and Randy Quillen for their exceptional care and help, especially during these last few difficult months and to Community Hospice for their passionate care and support.
Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Saturday, June 3, 2023 at the Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel by Rev. Kelly Stapleton. Visitation will be prior to services beginning at 11:00am Saturday.
