Larry Franklin Hazlett

Larry Franklin Hazlett, 54, of Ashland, passed away following an extended illness on Sunday, November 03, 2019, at Baptist Health in Lexington, Kentucky.

He was born February 5, 1965 a son of the late Richard Hazlett and Betty Sparks Roop. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Jim Ray Roop.

Larry was very active in the Marshall Artist Series and worked as a master cosmetologist. However, his passion was being a full time dad. He gladly took on any task where his daughter was involved. He coached cheerleading for Ashland JFL, designed costumes, dresses and sewed curtains for the school.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Tristan Leigh Hazlett of Ashland; former wife and dear friend, Jerri Brown Hazlett of Ashland; special nephew whom he loved as a son, Chad Edward Sparks of Ashland; and four brothers, Ollie David Roop, Michael “Bob” Roop, Rick Roop, Eddie Roop and a host of loving extended family members and dear friends.

Per Larry’s request there will not be a memorial service or visitation.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Larry’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association or to the Huntington AIDS Tri-State Task Force, 1038 6th Avenue, Huntington, WV, 25701.
