Laura Kelly Ackerson

Laura Jane "Janie" Kelly Ackerson, 56, passed away at Carter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on March 7, 2023.

She was born on October 11, 1966, a daughter of the late Jim and Barbara Gail Plum Kelly. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of many years Randall Ackerson and her oldest sister Sharon Kay Lewis (Kelly).

She was formerly a medical billing clerk and was of the Christian faith.

Laura is survived by her only child, a daughter Emily Ackerson, a grandson Elijah and two sisters Tammy (Kelly) Echard and Stephanie (Kelly) and Gary Ratliff. She is also survived by nieces Hannah, Abigail, Tara, Misty, and Tamara and nephews Josh, Jason, Tyler, Jake, Cody and Derek whom she loved very much

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel at 1:00 PM and will be officiated by Pastor Greg Matney. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until service time at 1:00 PM. Entombment will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum.
