Lena Mae Fannin

Lena Mae Fannin, 83, of Catlettsburg, passed away Sunday, January 20, 2019 at her residence. Lena was born June 29, 1935 in Lawrence County, KY a daughter of the late William and Flossie Lawson Kitchen. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Charles Edward Fannin, a son Donnie Fannin, a grandson Joe Fannin, a sister Billie Powell and brother-in-laws Jack Hanks and Cecil Lilly.

Mrs. Fannin was a talented seamstress and sewing was her happy place. She loved quilting and making everything from Harley blankets for her sons to a wedding dress for her daughter and play clothes for her children and grandchildren. She was a loving homemaker to her family and lovingly called Nana by all of her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her son Ronald Dene Fannin of Huntington, WV, daughters Tereca Cook of Ashland, Edwinna Kay Simpson and husband Jim of Catlettsburg, Stephanie Bradley of Catlettsburg, sisters Geneva Hanks of Ashland Betty Lilly of Lexington, grandchildren Tamera Fannin, Christi Eden, Drew (Tessa) Fannin, Dana Fannin, Justin Cook, Levi Simpson, Makailyn Bradley, great-grandchildren Lexus Fannin, Destiny Eden, Landon Eden, Tyler Fannin, Cody Lockwood, one great-great grandson Cameron Fannin, her little furry companion Gracie and a host of extended family and dear friends.

Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Thursday, January 24, 2019 at the Steen Funeral Home 13th St. Chapel by Pastor Kim Stone. Burial will follow in the Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be Thursday from 11:00am till service time at 1:00pm at the funeral home.
