Linda Kay Chapman Griffith, 72, of Summit, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2017, in Community Hospice Care Center.
She was born Aug. 17, 1945, in St. Charles, Mo., a daughter of the late Thomas and Dorothy Dunard Chapman.
Linda graduated from Morehead State University with her masters in Special Education and retired after many years of teaching at Summit Elementary School. She has been an active member of New Life Church in Huntington, W.Va., for over 30 years.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 53 years, Danny F. Griffith of Summit; two sons, Jeremy Griffith of Bucyrus, Ohio and Danny Mason Griffith and wife Beth of Celina, Ohio; two sisters, Patricia Capes of Summit and Phoebe Chapman Holbrook of Louisa; six grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and a host of loving extended family members and dear friends.
A memorial service will be at at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, 2017, at Steen Funeral Home 13th Street Chapel with Pastor Darrell Huffman Officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
