Lloyd R. Williams, 80, of Ashland, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2019 at the Hospice Care Center in Ashland. Mr. Williams was born October 12, 1938 in Georgetown, Illinois, a son of the late Alva and Gladys Collum Williams.
Lloyd was friend to many people. He will be deeply missed by the employees of the Mid-Town Kroger, the South Ashland Foodfair and the ladies at Community Trust Bank. He was an avid coin and stamp collector, he loved completing online surveys for gifts and Friday Freebies at Kroger.
Mr. Williams was an independent Contractor with the United States Postal Service in Florida for many years. He served his country proudly with the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his loving wife Dorothy Stewart Williams of Ashland, a brother Alva (Donna) Williams of Prescott, AZ, sisters Ruth Mary (David) Croft of Bronson, FL, Bonnie (Will) Korber of Beverly Hills, FL, Niece Dotty (Don) Nelson, great niece Rachel (Tom) Scott and their daughter Mackenzie all of Winfield, WV, Niece Robin Stewart and great niece Jessica Rice both of Ashland, Great Nephew Andrew (Jessica) Noe and their daughter Ginny all of Mt. Sterling, OH and Nephew Bill (Karen) Stewart and their sons Zach and Tyler of Thurman, OH.
Funeral services will be held 10:30am Monday, January 28, 2019 at the Steen Funeral Home 13th St. Chapel by Pastor Abraham Williams. Burial with military honors will be in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East.
Visitation will be Monday prior to the service from 9:00am till service time at 10:30.
