Mable Lee Marcum Gumm, 73, of Booneville, Kentucky, passed away Monday evening, July 13, 2020, in King’s Daughters Medical Center.
She was born January 16, 1947, in Manchester, Kentucky, a daughter of the late William Banks and Nora Wade Banks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hughes Edward Marcum; a son, Lester Dwayne Gumm; daughter, Shirley Kay Marcum; 4 brothers and 5 sisters.
Mable attended the Beattyville First Church of God. She enjoyed square dancing, playing cards with her friends and quilting. She was a southern cook and made sure that her family and friends were always fed. She had a green thumb and loved working in her flowers. She had nurtured the same angel wing flower for 54 years.
Survivors include her loving daughters, Brenda (Michael) Creech of Beattyville, KY, Judy (Robert) Hamilton of Ashland, KY; brother, Ray Banks of Middletown, KY; grandchildren, Jason (Bethany) Creech, Gary Hughes Marcum, Abigail Hamilton and Madelyn Hamilton; great grandson, Colton “Bubba” Creech; and her beloved dog, Smokey.
A private burial will be held at Begley Cemetery in Booneville, KY.
