Margaret Lee Stubbs

Margaret Lee Cannoy Caldwell Stubbs, a resident of Ashland, passed away Friday, March 29, 2019 at the Hospice Care Center in Ashland. Margaret just celebrated her 91st birthday, born March 27, 1928, she was one of five children born to the late Roy and Lila Murphy Cannoy. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by husbands Billy Ray Caldwell and Guy Stubbs, a grandson Billy Daniel Caldwell, two brothers and two sisters.
Margaret was a loving mother and grandmother. She will be remembered as a Cub Scout mom, a cheer leading mom at the former Yost Elementary, an excellent cook, and with a visit to her home you never left without eating a meal, and her homemade breads of zucchini and banana nut were the best.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son Billy Gordon Caldwell of Wurtland, daughters Marsha Ward of Irmo, SC, Connie Hawk and husband William of Catlettsburg, KY, Venice Caldwell French of Patriot, IN, 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.
A memorial to celebrate her life will be held 6:00pm Tuesday evening, April 2, 2019 at the Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue chapel by family friend Marty Gute. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6pm at the funeral home
