Margaret “Peg” Vierra
1944-2019
With great sadness, we report the passing of Peg Vierra on Saturday, May 25, 2019. She died peacefully, surrounded by her daughters Barbara Fowler of Kentucky and Donna Sylvester of Centerville, MA.
Peg was born in Winchendon, MA to John and Genevieve Rafferty McDonald. She was adopted and raised by her beloved parents Frank and Alice McAuley of Marlboro, MA with her cherished sister Nancy Schoenewaldt now of Brentwood, TN. She spent her younger years growing up in Marlboro where she married her first love the late James Boule’ in 1964. They lived in California where Mr. Boule’ was stationed in the Air Force and were blessed with two girls. They later settled in Northboro, MA to be near family and raise the girls.
Later in life, Peg moved to Mendocino County, CA where she married the late Leonard Vierra and they shared 24 years of life together. Near the end of her life Peg moved to Kentucky to live with her oldest daughter Barbara who cared for her until her last day.
Peg enjoyed music, loved baking especially during the holidays, bowling, wine tasting, coloring, traveling and being with family and friends. She was loved by many and will truly be missed.
Peg is survived by her sister Nancy Schoenewaldt, brother Jim McDonald, daughters Barbara and Donna, step daughters Tina and Wendy, step son Carlton, son-in-laws Brent, Norman “Spanky” and Ian, Grandchildren Meghan, Kenny, Blake, Katelyn, Bryce, Brooke, Austin, Collin, Jonathan, Samantha, Fernando, Harrison, and Jackson. Great Grandchildren Grayson, Ashlynn, Karina, and preceded in death by Raelynn Gray. Also surviving are many nieces including Erika, Lori and her nephew Craig.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Local arrangement under the direction of Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel.
