Martha A. Workman

Martha A. Workman (Ratliff) from Waxahachie TX, formerly of Ashland passed
away peacefully at home on April 14, 2022. She was born on December 25th, 1928, in Van Lear KY to the late Earnie and Mollie Ratliff (Trusty).

Martha was a stay-at-home mother most of her life but worked as a
dental assistant for several years. She married her high school sweetheart Bill
Workman on August 11, 1947, and they were married 63 years before his death in 2010. They were both graduates of Catlettsburg High School. In addition to her parents and her husband Bill, she was preceded in death by a son William A. Workman, and a grandson John Matthew Higgins. She was a member of Rose Hill Baptist church before leaving Ashland, but her passion was watching Jimmy Swaggart every Sunday morning. Martha was the last surviving child of 11.

She is survived by her daughter Debra Higgins (John) of Waxahachie, TX, a son Phillip Workman (Teresa) of Charlotte NC, 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Services will be Thursday April 21, 2022 at 1:00 PM at STEEN FUNERAL HOME-CENTRAL AVENUE CHAPEL and will be officiated by Reverend Matt Shamblin. Interment will follow at Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors from 12:00 Noon until service time at 1:00 PM on Thursday.
