Mervin Lee Lewis, 71, of Ashland, died peacefully on Friday, March 6, 2020, at the Community Hospice Care Center.
He was born February 1, 1949, in Ashland, Kentucky, a son of the late Onyx and Lola Brown Lewis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Lewis; sister, Judy Lynn Pullem, and sister in law, Cheryl Lewis.
Mervin retired as Building Supervisor for Habitat for Humanity in Huntington, West Virginia.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 50 years, Elizabeth “Libby” Legg Lewis of Ashland, KY; sons, Matt (Krystal) Lewis of Clinton, Maryland, Adam Lewis of Ashland, KY, Michael (Krista) Lewis of Berea, KY and John (Nicki) Lewis of Wurtland, KY ; brother, Garry Lewis of Ashland, KY; sister, Sharon (Randy) Bocook of Ashland; brother in law, Timothy Pullem of Ashland, KY; grandchildren, Courtney, Ella, Ryan, Lily, Onyx and Gus; a special caregiver, Renee Payne; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.
A celebration of Mervin’s life will be held at Noon on Friday, March 13, 2020 at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 1930 Winchester Avenue, Ashland, KY, 41101. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until Noon on Friday, at the church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mervin’s memory may be sent to Habitat for Humanity, 240 3rd Avenue, Huntington, WV, 25705.
