Michael Gene Cannoy

Michael Gene Cannoy, 70, of Westwood, passed away Wednesday evening, May 17, 2023 at his residence. Mike was born March 13, 1953 in Ashland, a son of the late Frederick William & Ruth Imogene Wheeler Cannoy. In addition to his parents, his wife Holly Johnson Cannoy, his sister Lila Grubb and a daughter Gina Cannoy Davis preceded him in death.
Mike attended the Westwood Christian Church and honorably served his country during the Vietnam War with the United States Army. He retired after 43 years of service as a senior control technician with AEP at their Big Sandy Plant.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son Delbert Christopher Cannoy and wife Jodi of Louisville, granddaughters Annastacia Cannoy and Kaitlin Wellendorf, great grandchildren Madison, Braylen, Kinsley, a brother William Cannoy and wife Debbie of Westwood, KY, a brother Richard Cannoy of Flatwoods, KY and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Steen FuneralHome-13th Street Chapel and will be officiated by Grant Cannoy.
Visitation will be prior to services from 12:00 PM until service time at 1:00 PM.
Burial with full military honors will follow at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East in Greenup County, KY with American Legion Post #93 assisting.
