Michael D. Kuhner

Michael Dale Kuhner, 62, of Franklin Furnace, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2023 following an extended illness. Michael was born April 5, 1961 in Ashland, a son of S. Wayne Kuhner of Cape Coral, FL and the late Betty Jo Pinkerman Kuhner. In addition to his mother, his wife Tonya Hale Kuhner, his brother Stephen Wayne Kuhner, and a sister Theresa “Terri” Browning also preceded him in death.
Mike had a generous heart and soul. He was always helping people any way he could. His charitable contributions were demonstrated through his involvement with Helping Hands of the Tri State, Meals on Wheels, and as a driver of the Church Van with the First Baptist Church in Worthington, where his father previously pastored. His working life was mostly involved with the former Ashland Oil, Inc. offices in Russell where he held a Supervisor position and a brief employment with Dow Chemical in Wurtland.
Mike attended the Russell First Baptist Church and was a Kentucky Colonel.
Those left to cherish his memory in addition to his father include a son Mickey Kuhner and wife Lacey of Mt. Sterling, KY, a daughter Rachel Branham and husband Stephen of Franklin Furnace, OH, sisters Pamela Vance (Tammy) of Cave Springs, AR, De-Ann Reel of Ave Maria, FL, sister-in-law Debbie Kuhner of Carter County, KY, a brother-in-law Jim (Julie) Browning of Ashland and a host of extended family and friends.
A gathering of friends and family to celebrate Michael’s life will be held Monday, May 29, 2023 at Bloom Lake, 775 Bloom Furnace Road, South Webster, OH 45682. This was a special place to Mike and all are welcome to attend. The gathering begins at 2:00pm with sharing and words of comfort beginning at 3:00pm.
