Miriam J. Shope

Miriam J. Shope, 93, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018, in Oakmont Manor.
She was born August 20, 1924, in Ironton, Ohio, a daughter of the late Chester Blaine Shope and Emma Ward Shope.
Miriam was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). She received her bachelor’s degree from Ohio State University, attended Transylvania University, and was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. She retired from Kentucky Power Company after many years of service.
She is survived by many friends and church family.
Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2018 at Woodland Cemetery in Ironton, Ohio, with The Reverend Ike Nicholson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) 1930 Winchester Avenue, Ashland, Kentucky, 41101.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel.
