Myrtle Francis Moore, 93, of Ashland, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, in the Community Hospice Care Center.
She was born April 15, 1925 in Rush, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Dallas and Hazel Kiger Gullett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her adoring husband of 66 years, Robert L. Moore; son, Robert L. Moore, Jr.; grandson Timothy Moore; sister, Sena Gullett; and brother, Dallas “June” Gullett.
Myrtle was a member of Straight Creek Church of the Nazarene for over 50 years. She was a beloved mother and nannie and will long be remembered for her kind, gentle spirit.
Those left to cherish her memory include a son, Timothy K. Moore, of Ashland; daughters, Yvonna Sue Porter and husband Winford and Kathy Lynn Hamilton and husband Kenneth, all of Ashland; daughter in law, Sandra Moore of Greenup; brothers August “Cap” Gullett and wife, Betty of Rush and Carson “Bill” Gullett of Rush; grandchildren, David Baldridge, Jeff Porter, Travis Moore, Shawn Hamilton, Brad Hamilton & Jason Moore; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
A celebration of Myrtle’s life will be held 1 pm Friday, March 1, 2019 at Steen Funeral Home 13th Street Chapel with words of comfort by her brother, Carson “Bill” Gullett. Burial will follow in Coalton Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from Noon until 1 pm Friday, at the funeral home.
