Dr. Nancy Sue Roberts Kloha DNP fell asleep in Christ in the early morning hours of October 21st, the day after her 67th birthday, having died of natural causes.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Rev. Mark A. Kloha of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, as well as her three daughters Rachel (Nathan) Hooker, Rebecca (Ryan) Strand, and Ruth (Lyman) Stone, and five grandchildren: Kaleb and Kiersten Hooker, Isla and Harriet Strand, and Suzannah Stone, with two more on the way.
Nancy was an accomplished nurse and educator, with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Evansville, Master of Science in Nursing from Indiana University, and Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of Kentucky, where she was faculty for over two decades. At various times, Nancy taught and practiced nursing in universities, hospitals, rural health clinics, and schools across several states, and was even a commissioned Coast Guard nurse.
She was a member of the Alpha Phi sorority, the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, the church choir, and loved to help her family achieve their dreams. Throughout her life, Nancy never missed a summer at the cottage in Michigan, where she raised her children and grandchildren to love family, appreciate beauty, and walk with the Lord.
Visitation for the public will be 6-8 PM on Saturday, October 24th at the Steen Funeral Home on 13th St. and 3-4 PM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on Sunday, October 25th, with a funeral service officiated by Rev. Kevin A. Wilson following at 4 PM. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association would be greatly appreciated.
