Nanna Mae Hall Blanton turned 94 of July 14th. and on July 25th she changed her address to heaven.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Minnie Burke Hall, formerly of Myra, Kentucky. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Kevin Blanton and Craig Blanton; daughter, Yvonne Blanton; special sister, Anna Lora Adkins; and siblings, Maxie, Myrtle, Lonnie, Richard, Myra, Virgil and Marian.
Nanna Mae was of the Baptist faith and worked as a Professor’s Assistant at Ashland Community College.
Nanna Mae lived her life with endless fortitude. Having five children, three of which had Muscular Dystrophy and proceeded her in death. She was a warrior who overcame and succeeded. She was joyful and happy. Never a victim. She cried in silence many nights, but she never stopped. She taught her children to desire education, to love books and to be honest and good.
Those left to cherish her memory include a son, James Keith Blanton (Lois) of Greenup, KY; daughter, Reta Addington (David) of Greenfield, OH; sister, Nell Hall Lawson of Winchester, KY; brothers, Basil Hall (Bea) of Jenkins, KY, Morris Hall (Loretta) of Myra, KY, Frank Hall (Jean) of Shelby Gap, KY, and Johnnie Hall (Joyce) of Ashland, KY. She also leaves behind a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.
A celebration of Nanna Mae’s life will begin at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 29, 2021, at STEEN FUNERAL HOME 13TH STREET CHAPEL with words of comfort provided by Pastor Gary Hall. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m Thursday, at the funeral home.
