Paul Ray Imes

Paul Ray Imes, 77, of Ashland, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at the Hospice Care Center in Ashland. Mr. Imes was born September 9, 1943 in Logan County, WV, a son of the late Frank and Maude Taylor Imes. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brothers Bobby and Tommy and his sister Betty.
Mr. Imes was a teacher and basketball coach at Man High School in Man, WV. He received his master’s degree from Marshall University and briefly served as a member of the faculty. His educational background also lead him to social work and home schooling. He served his country proudly with the United States Air Force.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son Michael Imes of Kermit, WV, his granddaughter Payton Imes, his caregiver and mother-in-law Wanda Salmons of Ashland, family friends Tabby Jude of Kermit, WV, Gary Stewart of Kenova, WV, and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Thursday, October 29, 2020 at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East.
There will be no visitation.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff of the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland for the exceptional care given to Paul during his illness.
