Pauline Brooks Wheeler

Pauline Salyer Brooks Wheeler, 88, of Ashland, KY passed away 6/22/2022 at her
home. She was born on 3/30/1934 to Alpha and Junie Greene Salyer who preceded her
in death. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Doris
McCown, and husbands Hubert Brooks and Kenneth Wheeler.
She was a member of Second Freewill Baptist Church. Pauline loved to play cards,
bake chocolate chip cookies with her grandchildren, quilt, crochet baby blankets and
read her Bible.
Left to cherish her memory include her four children: David Brooks of Davidson, NC;
Robert (Teresa) Brooks of Ashland, KY; Sandra (Kenneth) Wicker of Louisville, KY and
Amy (Dirk) Hay of Catlettsburg, KY. Pauline is also survived by grandchildren: Aaron Wicker (Anna) of Philadelphia, PA; Ashley Wicker of Chapel Hill, NC; Aubree Hay of Catlettsburg, KY and Dirk Hay II of Catlettsburg, KY. She has one great grandchild, Emma Wicker. A sincere thank you to her wonderful neighbors Woody and Teresa Fosson of 47 years who are extended family.
A private funeral service will be held Monday, June 27th at Steen Funeral Home Central
Avenue Chapel by Pastor James Lindsey. She will be laid to rest in Ashland Cemetery
next to her first husband, Hubert Brooks.
