Pearl Sparks

Pearl Irene Sparks, 81, of Ashland, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Woodland Oaks. Pearl was born December 16, 1938 in Havre, Montana, a daughter of the late Lloyd and Jessie Schmidt Scofield. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband David Roscoe Sparks, Sr., and a son Chester Sparks.
Pearl was a homemaker and was well known for her delicious baked pies from the former Bluegrass Grill in Ashland.
She is survived by her sons Lloyd (Modessa) Sparks, John (Crissy) Sparks, Bill Sparks all of Chester, SC, David Sparks, Jr. of Ashland, KY, and Mark Sparks of Chester, SC; daughters Jessie Sparks (Ernest) Lambert of Westwood, KY, and Pamela Sparks (Michael) Sandy of Richwood, OH; a daughter-in-law Patricia Sparks of Ashland, KY, a brother Ronald (Peggy) Ray of Warwick, MT; 19 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Thursday, January 30, 2020, at the Steen Funeral Home 13th St. Chapel by Chaplain Jimm Smedley. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
Visitation will be Thursday from 12:00pm till service time at 1:00 at the funeral home.
