Phyllis Huzzey Hartman of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, passed away on October 22, 2021 at the age of 89.
She was born to Rena and Thomas Huzzey in Ashland, Kentucky. After graduating high school in three years, she went on to study mathematics at University of Kentucky. After graduation, she landed her first job as an Engineer Assistant for General Electric in Cincinnati, performing mathematical calculations for nuclear reactors.
At General Electric she met her future husband, Jack Hartman. They wed in 1957, going on to have four children, Albert Louis (Maxine), John (Barb Belfore), Randy (Michelle) and Jim (Kim). After residing in Santa Monica, Los Alamos, Indianapolis, and Franklin, Michigan, she spent over 20 years in Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan. She is preceded in death by her brother Edward and sister Doris. She is survived by her husband, her sister Rena, her four sons, her nine grandchildren: Derek (Bonnie), Denise, Jackson, Maria, Michael, Cooper, Sam, Gabby, and Drew; and two great grandchildren: Blair and Dylan.
Phyllis was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed traveling with her husband to Spain, Germany, England, Mexico, Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Canada Morocco, and across the United States.
There will be a funeral service at October 30, 2021 at STEEN FUNERAL HOME 13TH STREET CHAPEL, 3409 13th St, Ashland, KY 41102. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 1:00, with service at 1:00.
