Phyllis Jean Sexton, 83, of Franklin, TN formerly of Ashland, KY and Lexington, KY went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, January 8, 2022 at the Williamson Medical Center in Franklin, TN.
She was born March 30, 1938 in Ashland, KY the daughter of the late Joe and Lyda Moore Lyttleton. In addition to her parents, her husband, Edward Earl Sexton, a daughter, Katherine Jean “Kathy” Elkins and a brother Joe Lyttleton, also preceded her in death.
Her greatest joy was being a mother and grandmother.
She was retired from SuperAmerica and attended the Brentwood Baptist Church in Brentwood, TN.
Survivors include one son, Joe Sexton and wife Amy of Ft. Worth, TX; two daughters, Karen Dodge and husband Bob of Thousand Oaks, CA and Sheri Kennedy and husband Shelby of Nashville, TN; one brother, Jim Lyttleton and wife Marge of Burbank, CA; one sister, Betty Swyers and husband Willard of St Louis, MO; eight grandchildren, Michael Weed, Lori Herring, Wilson Sexton, Kevin Pennington, Emma Sexton, Kelley Hillman, Jonathan Dodge, Gavin Kennedy and one great granddaughter, Haley Herring.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 PM Sunday, January 16, 2022 at STEEN FUNERAL HOME, CENTRAL AVENUE CHAPEL by Chaplin Jimm Smedley. Entombment will follow at the Ashland Cemetery Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:30 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
She brought great joy to the world, she finished the race. Now she has gone home, to her eternal heavenly place. Nana we love you and we all look forward to seeing you again,
