Powell Henderson

Powell G. Henderson, 75, passed away Jan. 24, 2021. Due to the pandemic, services were postponed. G-pa will now will be laid to rest with a graveside service May 7, 2022 at 1:00 pm in the Ashland Cemetery by Chaplin Jimm Smedley and military services conducted by the Kenova American Legion Post 93.
Powell was born Dec. 10, 1945, in Ashland, Kentucky, to the late Austin and Sarah Henderson.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Henderson; daughter Lori (Mike) Treadaway; grandchildren Michael (Renee)Treadaway, Steven Treadaway and Jacob Treadaway; sister Myra Sue (Nelson) Keesey; nephews Greg (Dorothy) Keesey and Cabot Keesey; and niece Erin Keesey.
Powell served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.
He retired as a civil servant.
Powell was a member of the Humane Society, the Red Cross and the Murray Amateur Ham Radio Club.
He enjoyed family and friends, storytelling, cooking, ham radio, scroll sawing and trains.
