Richard Allan Ellison

Richard Allan Ellison, 64, of Ashland, passed away Monday, Feb. 26, 2018.
He was born March 6, 1953, in Huntington, WVa., the son of the late M.S. Ellison and Thelma Arlene Chinn Ellison.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Richard Andrew Ellison; and two stepsons, David and Chris Miller.
He was a graduate of Paul Blazer High School and University of Kentucky. He worked for the Naval Audit Service in Washington, D.C. and Department of Veteran's Affairs in Huntington. He was a licensed C.P.A.
He is survived by his wife, Carolynn Ellison of Ashland; two sons, Robert Allan (Kristen) Ellison of Florence and Tyler Ellison of Ashland; a stepdaughter, Jami (Brian) Tomblin of Orlinda, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Ainsley Ellison, Chaz Ellison, Cruz (Amanda) Tomblin, B.J. (Taylor) Tomblin and Sierra Tomblin; and his beloved friend and companion, Winston.
A celebration of life will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2018, at Steen Funeral Home 13th Street Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
