Richard Allen VanHorn

Richard Allen VanHorn, 74, formerly of Louisa, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2020 at his residence in Ashland. Richard was born December 14, 1945 in Ashland, a son of the late Wallace F. and Janie Boggs Vanhorn. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his loving wife Karen Sue McWhorter Vanhorn in 2018.
Richard was a roofing contractor for many years working with several area roofing companies in the tri state area.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son Scott Vanhorn of Ashland, his grandson Bradley Scott Vanhorn of Ashland, his K-9 Chihuahua companion Julie, a brother Ralph Vanhorn of Flatwoods, a sister Mary Kay Vanhorn Morgan of West Chester, OH and a host of extended family and friends.
A graveside service will be held 2:00pm Thursday, February 27, 2020 at the Ashland Cemetery Mausoleum by Edgar Nethercutt, Jr.
Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 at the Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel.
