Robert Dale McAlister

Robert Dale McAlister, 74, of Catlettsburg, passed away Friday, September 25, 2020 at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. Mr. McAlister was born April 8, 1946 in Kenova, WV, a son of the late Robert Burl McAlister and Ruby Hitchcock McAlister Gorst. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-laws, Billie and John Hatten and Claude Gilkerson.
Mr. McAlister was a member of the First Baptist Church, Russell. He retired from sales and served his country honorably with the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife Rebecca Strange McAlister of Catlettsburg, daughters Diane (Vince) McAlister of Springfield, OH, Amy (Gary) Amburgey of Columbus, OH, Denise (Rob) Kline of Dallas, TX, son Robert Mather “Matt” (Carrie) McAlister of Catlettsburg, sisters Betty Gilkerson of Kenova, WV, Emma (Gale) Hurst of Ocala, FL, grandchildren, Emily McAlister, Ruby McAlister, Jakob Roberts, Cooper Roberts, Robert Maxwell McAlister, Ava Jo McAlister, Beckham McAlister and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 12:30pm Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at the Steen Funeral Home 13th St. Chapel by Pastor Ken Gowin. Burial with full military honors will be in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East.
Visitation will be Tuesday, prior to services, from 10:30am till service time at 12:30.
