Robert Leslie Mynhier, 69, of Russell, Kentucky, died peacefully Monday evening, March 30, 2020 at his residence.

He was born May 4, 1950, in Ashland, Kentucky, a son of the late Ralph Mynhier and Ruth Johnson Mynhier Click.

Bob was a 1968 graduate of Paul Blazer High School and a 1970 graduate of Ashland Community College. He was a lifelong sports fan. He was a member of the Ashland Tomcat football team when they won the state championship in 1967. He spent many years in the press box volunteering as a spotter for the Russell football team. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Russell and volunteered with the Baptist Builders of Ohio and South East Kentucky. He retired from AK Steel and then worked for Riverside Refractories in Alabama. He later worked with Allied Minerals and Products in Ohio. Bob was an avid golfer and outdoorsman. In his later years he loved sitting on the riverbank and visiting with his neighbors.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 40 years, Connie Terrill Mynhier of Russell; daughter, Heather Harr and husband, Matt of Russell; son, Jonathan Mynhier and wife, Mandy of Georgetown, KY; brother Bill Mynhier of Pikeville, NC; sister, Linda Taylor and husband, John of Hebron, KY; grandchildren, Drew, Alex, Easton and Bryleigh and a host of loving extended family members and dear friends.

A private graveside service will be held on Friday, at Rose Hill Burial Park with Rev. Ken Gowin officiating. There will be a public celebration of Bob’s life announced at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bob’s memory should be directed to First Baptist Church, Russell Missions Fund, 901 Ashland Drive, Russell, KY, 41169.
