Robert R. Clark, 53, of Ashland, KY, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 17, 2021, after a brief illness.
Robert was born on November 25,1967, in Landstuhl, Germany, the beloved son of Joseph R. Clark and Helga Clark (Wustrack). He was a 1985 graduate of Heidelberg American High School and graduated from Marshall University. He loved the Thundering Herd.
Robert enjoyed playing golf with his friends, watching college football, rafting the New River, and cheering on the Cincinnati Reds. He was a Tomcat Soccer coach, and loved watching his children compete in soccer and volleyball. Most of all, Robert cherished time with his family, especially on family game night. His caring and nurturing nature won him Ashland Rotary Club’s Father of the Year. His eternal optimism and charm endeared him to everyone who knew him. He was loved by so many.
In addition to his parents, Joseph and Helga Clark, those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife Shelly Clark; his favorite son, Jacob Heishman; and three beautiful daughters, Kelly Heishman, Sydney Clark, and Sophia Clark. He also leaves behind a sister, Yvonne (Mark) Kempf; uncle David (Pam) Clark; honorary grandmother, Eva “Nanny T” Totten, and a host of extended family. He was “Uncle Robert” to Conner Kempf, Kyle (Rachel) Kempf, Keegan Kempf, Sarah Dennison, Kevin Green, Brittany Davidson, and Evan Foley.
Robert was a member of First Baptist Church in Russell, KY. There will be a celebration of Robert's life at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, August 29, 2021, at First Baptist Church, Russell. The family will receive guests from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, at the church.
