Ronald G. Holbrook

Ronald G. Holbrook, 81, of Rush, passed away in the arms of Jesus, Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at the Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
Ron was born July 30, 1939 in Boyd County, KY, a son of the late Ortie and Carrie Hutchinson Holbrook. In addition to his parents, Ron was also preceded in death by his brothers Doug Holbrook and Max Holbrook, his sister Bonnie Sue Holbrook and his precious grandson Chase Holbrook.
Ron retired from Armco Steel Company as a Foreman in Basic Oxygen and Caster. He traveled several times overseas to Germany and Japan to learn the “ins & outs” of the caster process.
Ron loved to hunt, fish and spend time outdoors. Family was everything to Ron, it was the most important thing in his life. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 63 years Dorothy Fannin Holbrook, his daughters Sherry (Chuck) McKnight, Rhonda (Ron) Canfield all of Rush, his grandchildren, Tiffany Johnson, Tara (Jason) Jones, Chad (Maddie) Johnson, great grandchildren, Mia Johnson, Ava Johnson, Brogan Jones, Degan Jones, sister-in-law Garnet Hammond and numerous nieces, nephews and good friends.
Graveside funeral services will be held 1:00pm Sunday, February 28, 2021 at the Ross Cemetery by his nephew Brent Hutchinson.
Visitation for friends and family will be Saturday evening from 6-8pm at the Steen Funeral Home 13th St. Chapel.
