Rose Mary Ball, 66, of Ashland, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2020 at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. Rose was born January 21, 1954 in Huntington, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Noah, Jr., and Mary Rose Insco Workman. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her son Timothy Smith, sisters Gwen Hurt and Nita Diane Eddy.
Rose formerly attended the Heritage Temple Freewill Baptist Church in Ashland. For many years she was a flea market dealer at the Hillbilly Flea Market in Russell. She was a former manager of the Wheeler-Clevenger Exxon Station in Ashland, was an IHOP waitress while living in Florida and worked at the former Corbin Ltd, an Ashland, Ky.-based manufacturer of men's and women's apparel. Rose was also a member of the WebWhispers, a worldwide Throat Cancer and Laryngectomee Rehabilitation Support Group.
Those left to share her memory include her loving husband Scott Ball of Ashland, her children Tracy Huffman of Newport News, VA, Travis Smith of Ashland, Jessica Ball of Huntington, WV, Amanda Ball of Ashland, grandchildren Izaiah Smith, Aubrey Smith, Rachel Gehringer, Dylan Ball and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Thursday, June 11, 2020 at the Steen Funeral Home 13th St. Chapel by Pastor Mark A. Kloha. Entombment will be in the Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 6-8pm Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
