Roy Eugene Dean, 81, of Ashland, formerly of Huntington, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2023 at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland with his family at his side.
Mr. Dean was born May 2, 1942 in Pineville, West Virginia, a son of the late Woodrow Lincoln and Marabel O’Conner Dean. In addition to his parents, his brother Roger Dean also preceded him in death.
Roy is a graduate of Pineville High School, class of 1960 and attended classes at Marshall University. He was a faithful member of the Thirteenth Street Baptist Church in Ashland and served his country honorably with the United States Air Force. Roy retired after a 37-year career with Calgon Corp as a buyer. In his spare time, he enjoyed a good round of golf, fishing and tending his garden. However, most importantly, he loved spending time with his family, especially his loving wife Bobbie and their grandkids.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 58 years, Roberta “Bobbie” Riddle Dean of Ashland, a son Brian Dean of Annandale, NJ, a daughter Lisa Dean Busch and husband Brent of Ashland, his grandchildren he adored Sarah Stambaugh (Tylar), Daniel Matthew Busch (fiancé Olivia), Scott Andrew Busch, and a host of extended family and friends.
There will be no visitation.
A small service will be held 2:00pm Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at the Ridgelawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 5547 W Pea Ridge Rd, Huntington, WV 25705, with words of comfort by Pastor Jim Byrd.
