Ruth Alice Taylor, 78, of Ashland, died peacefully, on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at her residence.
She was born April 26, 1941, in Carter County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Leonard Prichard and Lucy Stapleton Williams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Garnet Stevens.
Ruth was of the Baptist faith. She retired following a 20 year career with Ashland Independent School System and then had a second career with Cannonsburg Walmart.
Those left to cherish her memory include sons, Kenneth (Diana “Mo”) Taylor of Abingdon, VA, Randall “Randy” (Diana) Taylor of Ashland; William (Alta) Taylor of Ashland; niece, Carolyn Stevens of Ashland; brother, Clayton (Bonita) Prichard of Ashland; 7 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
A service for the family will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2020 at Steen Funeral Home 13th Street Chapel with words of comfort provided by Edgar Nethercutt. Burial will follow in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held from Noon until 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
