Samantha Leanne McKinney

Samantha Leanne McKinney, 43, of Ashland, KY passed away on September 14, 2021 at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. She was born June 29, 1978 in Cleveland, OH a daughter of Lorraine "Lorry" Voelker Borders and the late Mark Alan Borders. Mark loved her so much, he adopted Samantha when she was five years old.
Samantha's biological father was Robert Milton Cox.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Richard Voelker and Wanda Gifford and her biological paternal grandmother Ellen Cox. She was also preceded in death by her "second grand-dad" whom is the only grandparent she knew, Harold James Lantzer.
Samantha graduated from Collins Career Center and was a homemaker.
In addition to her mother Lorraine "Lorry" Borders she is survived by her husband James McKinney of Ashland, KY, a son Dorian McKinney, a daughter E’owyn McKinney, sisters Jeannette (Terry) Sanderson and Melissa Cox, a brother Robert Cox . Also surviving is her biological paternal grandfather Larry Cox and her adopted paternal grandmother Julia Ann Borders.
The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
